What’s new in building 21318?

Paste as normal text in the clipboard History

You can now open the clipboard history (WIN + V) and click the button … next to each text item in the clipboard history.

The menu now includes the new “Paste Plain Text” option in addition to the “Paste and Delete” option. It pastes the text content from the clipboard without the original formatting.

Paste In Plain Text

Microsoft is asking users to comment on this change.

This functionality will initially be distributed to a subset of insiders in the device channel to help Mirosoft quickly identify issues that may affect performance and reliability. Rest assured that it will be gradually introduced to all participants in the device channel.

Changes and improvements

  • Insiders using x64 applications on ARM64 no longer need to download and install a separate pre-release version of ARM64 C++ Redistributive.
  • When you pair compatible Bluetooth devices, the notification now stays on the screen a little longer, giving you a chance to respond before it disappears. If you want to delete the notification before that time, you can always do so by clicking the X in the notification, clicking the notification in the middle, or dragging the notification off the screen.
  • The touch keyboard improvements mentioned in build 21301, such as updating the default keyboard layout on screens 12 inches and larger, and the Candidate panel, now apply to all Insiders in the Dev chain.
  • We have improved the smooth motion when using the magnifying glass – for a scenario where you switch from mouse to keyboard.

  • Thank you for your comments about the space used by Messages and Interests in the taskbar. We have worked hard to find a solution that will allow you to make the best use of the available space. This release adds a feature that dynamically resizes the button to fit the available space in the taskbar.

  • We have fixed a situation where in previous versions domain networks were displayed with an incorrect firewall profile, resulting in blocking of some LAN services.
  • Some insiders have reported seeing a problem with the text “Please do not turn off your computer” on a previous flight. This will no longer be an issue for this flight as we have changed the text to “Please do not turn off or on your computer”.

Known issues

  • We are investigating an issue where access to an Azure Active Directory (AAD) device connected via Remote Desktop (RDP) fails after upgrading to version 21313. To resolve the issue, add the following registry key :

Ключ : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftIdentityStoreLoadParameters{B16898C6-A148-4967-9171-64D755DA8520}]

  • Live preview of pinned pages is not yet enabled for all insiders, so you may see a gray window when you hover over the thumbnail in the taskbar. We are still working on the final details.
  • We are working on a new taskbar for existing pinned pages. In the meantime, you can print the page from the taskbar, remove it from the page border://apps, and then print the page again.
  • We are investigating an issue where the taskbar button may not display content after the main monitor is changed.
